Zhang leads China Tour event

China's Xin Jun Zhang leads the PGA Tour's China Tour's Yulongwan Yunnan Open in Kunming, the 27 year old with a one shot lead over the field in the 6th event of the 2014 schedule of the newly created tour.

At the halfway point, Zhang sits at 14-under overall and holds a one-stroke lead over first-round leader Gunn Charoenkul heading into the weekend. Zhang, the Order of Merit leader, followed his opening-round, 7-under 65 with an identical score Friday.

The leading Australian at the halfway mark is South Australian, Chris Brown, who is in a tie for 7th albeit six shots behind the leader.

Scott Barr and Aaron Townsend are 10th, David Lutterus 14th, Brett Drewitt 16th with Bryden MacPherson and Stephen Dartnall the next best in 23rd position.

This week's tournament is part of a 12 event series on the US PGA Tour underwritten China Tour Series, the leading five players at year's end earning the right to play the Web.Com Tour in 2014.
