Wright and Na lead NSW Open

Victorian Lindsey Wright and South Australian Stephanie Na lead the Bing Lee Fujitsu General Women's NSW Open into the final round at the Oatlands Golf Club in Sydney tomorrow, the pair one shot ahead of West Australian Kristie Smith.

Wright's second round of 64 was highlighted by a run of six birdies between the 4th and 10th holes in round two and although the momentum slowed with a bogey at the 12th she birdied the 14th and 17th to share the lead.

Twelve months ago Wright was battling injury and was forced from the game for three months but the 34 year old, one of Australian Women golf's best over the last ten years, retained her status on the LPGA Tour where she will again play in 2014.

Na, a former Australian Stroke-play Champion and leading amateur, has played the ladies European Tour in recent years but today she too got on a birdie role early in her round with five consecutive birdies before completing a round of 66.

Smith has recently earned conditional status for the LPGA Tour and although she was unable to match her opening round of 65 her round of 70 has her within just one shot of the lead and she looks to get her 2014 campaign off to the perfect start.

The three players at 8 under par and within just two shots of the lead include last week's Australian Amateur Champion Minjee Lee.
