Lee, who has yet to win on the Japan Tour, began his final round shakily and through 12 holes was 2 over for the day and well off the lead.
He would however play his last six holes in 2 under to record a final round of even par 72 and finish three shots from the winner Daijiro Izumida who, in winning, secured his first title on the Japan Tour.
It was former leading amateur Lee’s best finish in an event anywhere since his 4th place finish at the Gateway to the Open Mizuno Open 14 months ago. He earned a cheque for (equiv) $45,000.
Brendan Jones and Aaron Townsend were the next best of the Australians when they tied for 9th, Anthony Quayle continued his strong weekend to finish 23rd and Matthew Griffin 53rd.
The next event on the Japan Golf Tour is the Fujisankei Classic in Yamanishi Prefecture.
