Weekly Reader Poll

Weekly Reader Poll Results: Winning US Open Score

Erin Hills in the American state of Wisconsin is the site of this week's 117th US Open.
Not many people would have predicted the ease with which some of the world's best players would humble Erin Hills on day one of the 117th US Open.

But despite Thursday's sublime scoring taking many by surprise, almost 60 per cent of those who responded to this week's iSeekGolf Weekly Reader Poll predicted an under par winning total.

With Rickie Fowler at 7 under through 18 holes and a further 43 players in red numbers after day one, an under par champion appears a foregone conclusion.

The largest group of respondents (29 per cent) said this week's winner will finish at 3-4 under par, while the next largest group (24 per cent) conversely forecast a leading mark of three over or worse.

But a telling fact was that 59 per cent of poll voters anticipated the 2017 US Open champion will finish under par.

Results: What will this year's US Open winning total be?
  • 3 over par or worse
  • 1-2 over par
  • Even par
  • 1-2 under
  • 3-4 under
  • 5 under or better
