Robert Allenby, Peter Lonard, Rhein Gibson and Jamie Arnold will be joined by Monday qualifiers Nick Cullen and David Lutterus when the Web.Com Tour plays its first event of the 2017 season in the USA this week.

The US$550,000 Chitimacha Louisiana Open Presented by Nacher returns to its long-time venue of the Robert Trent Jones designed Le Triomphe Golf and Country Club where it has been played since being first played as a Ben Hogan Tour event in 1992.

The event has been won once by an Australian, that coming in 2008 when Gavin Coles was successful, and this week another six Australians get their chance to deepen their nation's success in Broussard.

Gibson finished runner-up in the event two years ago when just one shot behind Kelly Kraft.

Gibson has made the cut in each of his last nine starts, the last of those coming at the ISPS Handa New Zealand Open in Queenstown where he finished 32nd but it is the sort of event and venue where he could do well.

South Australian, Lutterus, a former PGA Tour player, has played the China and Asian Tours in recent times but in his only world ranking event start this year he finished midfield in the LatinoAmerica Tour’s Avianco Colombia Open.
