The UL International Crown teams event for women in Chicago has been taken out by the USA who finished two points clear of pre-tournament favourites, Korea, with England and Taipei sharing third and Japan in 5th position.

Wins by Stacy Lewis, Cristie Kerr and Gerina Piller in today’s singles matches were enough to see the American side take out the first prize of $100,000 per member and claim the second staging of this event first held in 2014 when won by Spain.

Australia, Thailand and China were eliminated prior to the final day’s single matches.

The Australian team of Minjee Lee, Su Oh, Karrie Webb and Rebecca Artis finished last in their group against Korea, China and Taipei.

The world of women’s golf now heads to Berkshire in England where the Women’s British Open will be played at the Woburn Golf Club
