Tokimatsu, who won his first event on the Challenge Tour just three weeks ago, now gets to play the Japan Tour without the worry of eligibility for events.
Tokimatsu led by five shots heading into today’s final round and although he would win by only three he had to tournament in his command for most of the day. On the one occasion when it appeared the occasions might be getting the better of him, he recovered with four birdies in his last eight holes suggesting he might develop into one of the Japan Tour’s leading players in the years ahead.
Takashi Iwamoto, another chasing his first Japan Tour title, finished runner-up with Japan Tour veteran Koumei Oda alone in 3rd position.
Matthew Griffin was the only Australia t o make the cut but he finished well back in a share of 35th position.
The Japan Tour now has a one month break before the RIZAP KBC Augusta event in Fukuoka on August 25th
