Takayama wins Casio - Smail improves

Tadahiro Takayama has won the most significant title in his now five win Japan Golf Tour career by taking out the lucrative Casio World Open in Kochi by two shots over Yusaku Miyazato.

An eagle at the 72nd hole sealed the deal for Takayama, the victory moving him to second position on the money list, albeit a long way behind the runaway Sang Bae Moon.

Two time winner of the event, David Smail, earned his biggest cheque on the Japan Golf Tour since April of 2010 when he finished 11th, sharing that position with Ryo Ishikawa amongst others.

Smail was the only Australasian to play the weekend in the event and will now head back to New Zealand for his own national open in Christchurch.
