South Korean powerhouse, Sung Hyun Park, has returned to the top of the women’s world rankings with a one-shot win over Inbee Park, Hyo Joo Kim and Danielle Kang at the NW Arkansas Championship.

Park’s final round 66 was enough to edge her past what would have been a four-way playoff, a two-putt birdie at the par-5 last, after yet another powerful drive, secured her 7th LPGA Tour title, two of which have been major championships.

Statistically Park is behind Anne Van Dam and Angel Yin in the driving distance stats but her powerful hitting combined with her all-round skills have taken her to the top of the game for the 4th occasion, passing her fellow countrywoman Jin Young Ko this week.

Minjee Lee and Katherine Kirk shared the honours as leading Australian, the pair both recording final rounds of 66 to finish in 18th place.

The LPGA Tour now moves to Wisconsin for the Thornberry Creek Classic, an event which Katherine Kirk won two years ago.
