A last round of 68 would see her slip from an overnight 3rd place but it was yet another sign of the significant improvement Oh has made in recent weeks.
Oh has bounced back from a horror start to the year with several very good finishes in recent starts and next week she gets to play an event in which she finished 4th last year (Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give) suggesting further improvement is likely.
American Annie Park, in her third season on the LPGA Tour, won her first title with a one-shot victory over Japan’s Sakura Yokomine, holding on to win after Yokomine had thrown down the gauntlet with a final round of 61 an hour earlier.
32 year old Yokomine has played only two events on the LPGA Tour this season but has been a 23 time winner on the Japan LPGA Tour. She lost her full status on the LPGA Tour but regained partial status at last year’s Q School. This is her best performance in the USA.
Of the other Australians Rebecca Artis was 35th, Sarah Jane Smith 45th and Karrie Webb 56th while New Zealander Lydia Ko was 17th.
For Artis this week’s result was the best of her rookie LPGA Tour season.
