Steve Allan looking for big weekend

US based Victorian golfer Steve Allan might be nine shots from the Patton Kizzire’s lead at the Web.Com Tour’s Utah Championship but he is just five from second position and although in 16th position a strong weekend might just see him contending for the sort of finish he needs to advance his cause in quest for a return to the PGA Tour.

Currently 34th on the 2015 money list a good finish this week would assist Allan’s pursuit of a top 25 finish at season’s end and the right to play the PGA Tour next season.

The highlight of Allan’s season to date was when he finished runner-up at the Cartagena de Indias at Karibana Championship, earning US$61,000 of the US$99,000 he has earned to date.

At present it appears as if he might need another $60,000 or so to be in that category and a top two finish this week would do that for him. There is however four further events after this week to force his way into the top 25 although no time like the present to make that move.

Adam Crawford is the next best of the Australians to date this week in 22nd position.
