Steve Allan creeps closer in Utah

Steve Allan’s 11th place finish at this week’s Web.Com Utah Championship in Lehi, Utah has seen him improve 3 positions on the 2015 Web.Com Tour money list and he now sits in 31st position.

There are four more events before the leading 25 players earn their 2016 PGA Tour cards and the Web.Com Tour finals begin.

During the finals the leading 75 players from the Web.Com Tour are joined by players 126th – 200th on the FedEx Cup points standing and they play off over four events although for the leading twenty five mentioned earlier they are playing to establish their ranking non next year’s PGA Tour.

Allan’s season has been highlighted by his runner-up finish in Colombia earlier in the season and this week’s effort has been his best finish since.

The 41 year old former Australian Open Champion has played the PGA Tour on several occasions in the past finishing runner-up at the Greater Milwaukee Open and the Reno Tahoe Open in the early 2000’s.

Another US$50,000 or thereabouts should be enough to see him back playing at the higher level.

The tournament was won by Web.Com Tour money leader Patton Kizzire who after a season of top ten finishes finally broke through.
