Stephanie Na runner-up on Symetra Tour

South Australian Stephanie Na has produced her equal best finish in a professional event with a share of second place at the Symetra Tour’s Symetra Classic in Davidson in North Carolina.

Na began the final round tied in the lead with Ireland’s Leona Maguire and South Korean Eun Jeong Seong and while Maguire would eventually run out an easy winner it was an encouraging win for Na whose last top ten in an event of any kind came in July of last year on the Symetra Tour.

29-year old Na, a former Australian Strokeplay Champion and at one stage Australia’s top female amateur, has yet to rise to the heights as a professional she reached as an amateur but this has been an encouraging week for her.

Her previous best effort in the paid for play ranks was when runner-up in a Futures Tour event in 2014 and so her performance this week comes after a long time of waiting.

The winner, 24-year old Maguire, was the world’s leading female amateur before turning professional in 2018 and has already stamped her class in the professional ranks having been a winner and runner-up in her last two starts before this week's five-shot victory.
