Steady improvement continues for Jason Day in China

A strong final round could well see Day record a very good finish. (Photo: Henry Peters )
Jason Day has improved in each of the three rounds of the WGC HSBC Championship, his third round of 69 today added to his opening rounds of 71 and 70 placing the Australian in a share of 7th place.

Although seven shots from 54 hole leader, Tony Finau, Day has created the chance of a special round tomorrow perhaps allowing him to potentially challenge for the lead but to record a high finish.

Finau leads by three over Xander Schaufelle, Patrick Reed and defending champion Justin Rose.

Adam Scott has been unable to improve from his good opening round on Thursday and now finds himself in a share of 16th place, Jason Day and Cameron Smith are tied for 44th, Adam Bland is 50th, Jason Scrivener 60th and Brett Rumford 64th.
