Stanford leads in Hawaii

Angela Stanford leads the LPGA Lotte Championship on the island of Oahu in Hawaii as the event enters its final two rounds.

36 year old, Stanford, already a winner of five LPGA titles and more than US$8 million in prize-money, is chasing her first title in more than two years but there have been plenty of top ten finishes in that time and she arrived in Hawaii off the back of a last start 7th place finish at the Kraft Nabisco.

Stanford birdied eight of eleven holes in the middle of her round of 64 and now leads by one over local favourite Michele Wie who appears to have found a new lease of life of late with a series of good finishes over the last six months.

Cristie Kerr, So Yeon Ryu, Kim Hyo Joo and defending champion Inbee Park are one shot further back.

Lydia Ko and Katherine Kirk lead the Australasian brigade in a share of 21st position while Sarah Jane Smith and Sarah Kemp also made the cut but are well back.
