South Australian Bond leads QLD Open

Second season South Australian professional Tom Bond will tomorrow take a significant lead into the final round of Isuzu Queensland Open, a third round of 68 taking him ahead by three of Victorian Matthew Griffin with first and second round leader, Anthony Brown another shot further back.

Bond, who led last year's Queensland Open after the opening round before fading, is a much more accomplished professional now although he did also enjoy a successful amateur career before turning professional.

Victorian David Bransdon is alone in 4th position and five from the lead but the group of players at 2 under are certainly not without a chance especially if there is a chink in the armour of Bond tomorrow.

Those players include Andrew Dodt, Kim Felton, Max McCardle and Jake Higginbottom.

Thirteen players are under par and all are perhaps still possibilities to take the title tomorrow but much will depend on how Bond handles the situation. He is a player on the rise but this is a big day for him tomorrow.
