South Australian Amateur Champs decided

The Grange Golf Club's Jack Williams, who qualified second in the South Australian Medal Championship earlier in the week, has today defeated local golfer, Daniel Spiers, at the Kooyonga Golf Club in Adelaide to win the South Australian Amateur Championship.

Williams survived a close fought battle against Spiers, securing his victory at the final hole of their 36 hole match up.

In the Women's final Victoria Golf Club's Kono Matsumoto edged out Kristalle Blum from the Grange Golf Club after she had defeated leading qualifier Jenny Lee in Friday's semi-final.

14 year old Matsumoto, who has been a standout in junior amateur golf in Victoria in the past 18 months, won her 36 hole encounter 3&1.
