Sinnott wins Dunes Medal

The Dunes Medal, one of the more significant events in Australian amateur golf, has been won by Todd Sinnott, the Victorian winning by two over Victoria's Geoff Drakeford with NSW golfer, Dimitrios Papadatos, finishing next one shot behind Drakeford.

Sinnott, a member of the recent and successful Australian Four Nations team in New Zealand, played several leading amateur events in the US this season but this victory will likely play a key role in him representing Australia at next year's World Amateur Championship.

He finished third at the recent Copa Juan Carlos Tailhade in Argentina and is clearly a young man with a promising future.

Sinnott had a four shot lead playing the final round at the Dunes Golf Club on the Mornington Peninsula and even though he lost ground to Drakeford and Papadatos, his lead was such that he had enough in reserve.
