Australian Ryan Ruffles has finished runner-up at the Molino Canueles Championship in Buenos Aires, the 20-year old Victorian unable to survive a playoff between he and 31-year old Colombian Andres Echavarria.

A birdie by Echavarria at the 2nd hole of the playoff saw him win his second event on the Latino America Tour, a feeder tour to the Web.Com Tour in 2020.

For Ruffels it was his second consecutive runner-up finish on the Latino America Tour having finished runner-up two weeks ago in Panama in the opening event of the season.

It is the 5th runner-up finish by Ruffels in his fourth season on the Latino America Tour.

Ruffels now moves to 3rd place on the 2019 Order of Merit as he looks to become one of the five players at season’s end to graduate to the Web.Com Tour next season.

Ruffel's fellow Australian, Harrison Endycott, began the week well but recorded a disappointing weekend to finish 51st.
