Australian golfer Ryan Ruffles will attempt to capitalise on his fine debut on the Latino America Tour when he tees it up in this week’s Lexus Peru Open in Lima in Peru.

Ruffels, regularly touted as one of Australia’s brightest young prospects, made the cut in four of his allowed seven starts on the PGA Tour this season but with those invites exhausted the Melbourne golfer a month ago finished runner-up in Ecuador, one of the events on the Latino America schedule.

If he can reproduce that form or better this week then he positions himself for one of the 2017 Web.Com Tour cards available via that tour.

Ruffels was one of Australia’s and the world’s finest amateurs before turning professional early in 2016.

Ruffels will join fellow Australians Ryan McCarthy and Bryden Macpherson in this week's event.
