HE got plenty of criticism for injuring himself playing kickabout soccer with his mates last year so Rory McIlroy can probably expect some blowback from his latest stunt in Dubai.
The World Number Two posted this video on Instagram overnight showing him leaping off the city's tallest building on a zip wire.
The extreme ride, apparently open only to specially invited guests, takes off from the famous Burj Khalifa hotel and sends the rider down through the city's famous Dubai Fountains.
While the fountain appears not to be going in McIlroy's video, the ride is said to be as thrilling as any bungee jump and certainly doesn't appear to be for the feint-hearted.
The zip line ride covers 558 metres and takes about a minute to complete. It begins 90 metres above ground level and finishes on the rooftop of Dubai Mall.
McIlroy has a history with the Burj Khalifa having hit golf balls off the hotel's iconic helipad, suspended more than 200 metres above the ground, in 2011.
