Queensland’s Karis Davidson has finished 7th in a Japan Ladies Tour event, the Resort Trust Ladies, and although she slipped from her overnight 3rd position with a final round of 70 over the low scoring layout it was the 19-year old’s best finish of her rookie season.

Davidson, based at the Sanctuary Cove Golf Club on the Gold Coast,  began and finished her final round well but a rocky patch through the middle stages would prove costly, dropping shots at the 6th, 9th, 10th and 11th holes to finish just three shots from the playoff for the title.

Davidson will pick up $A30,000 (equiv) for her efforts and move to 38th on the Japan Ladies Tour money list with earnings just under A$100,000.

Davidson is the only Australian playing the Japan Ladies Golf Tour and in fact is the first to play the JLGT regularly for several years.

The tournament was won by Japan’s Eri Okayama who won a playoff over Minami Katsu.
