Australians Jake McLeod and Wade Ormsby have been eliminated from the Belgian Knockout, McLeod losing by one shot to Frenchman Gregory Havret in the opening round and Ormsby bowing out in round two of the medal / match play nine-hole match-ups after defeating England’s David Horsey in round one.

Ormsby fell victim to one of the pre-tournament favourites, Thomas Detry, after birdies at his opening two holes of that match had given him a two-shot advantage.

The tournament moves into its quarterfinals with last week’s winner of the Made in Denmark event Bernd Wiesberger shaping as a genuine contender for back to back victories.

Wiesberger, who needed a second qualifying round of 64 to just scrape into the top 64 who made the knockout phase, faces Italy’s Guido Migliozzi who survived a playoff against England’s David Law to get through to the last eight.
