Oosthuizen tops European Tour stats

South African golfer Louis Oosthuizen, who achieved the lowest average ranking of 14.92 relative to his peers in the first three months of The 2012 European Tour International Schedule, has been crowned the inaugural winner of the Genworth Performance Award.

Launched by Genworth (NYSE: GNW) and The European Tour, the award sets a new benchmark in determining a player's performance across a range of detailed metrics in six critical performance areas:

1. Tee shots (total driving from combined ranking)
2. Approach shots (GIR ranking)
3. Scrambling (scrambles ranking)
4. Putting (putts per round ranking)
5. Scoring (stroke average)
6. Prize money achieved (average money won per tournament played)

Commenting on his achievement, Oosthuizen said: "Continuous improvement in performance is what we all strive to achieve in this competitive environment. In my experience, paying close attention to the Genworth Player Performance Statistics reveals where improvements in my game can be made. I'm delighted to be the first recipient of this award."
