Nordqvist ahead in Thailand

Sweden's Anna Nordqvist has the halfway lead at the Honda LPGA Thailand event in Chonburi in Thailand, the 26 year old chasing her first victory anywhere in more than four years.

Nordqvist's last win came at the LPGA Tour Championship in 2009, the same year she broke through for her maiden LPGA Tour victory at the LPGA Championship.

Today's round by Nordqvist was not at the same level of brilliance as that of yesterday's opening round of 66 but she did enough to keep her chasers at bay the lead now one over Azaharo Munoz, Julieta Granada and Sandra Gal.

Pre tournament favourite Stacy Lewis is just one shot further back along with Michelle Wie.

Karrie Webb kept in touch of her second consecutive victory when she added a round of 70 to be at 3 under and just four from the lead.

Katherine Kirk is the only other Australian in the field and she is in 48th position.
