THERE are two key areas of the body in terms of your set up posture: the upper back and the glutes.
Before we hit off in any round of golf we want to activate these areas and get them ready to play and I have a simple drill that lets us do that quite quickly.
For this exercise we'll need a knee band and a Ramsey Posture belt or, if you don't have a posture belt, you can use some flexible tubing.
We put the knee band just above the knees and push outwards to keep it in place then with the tubing we put our arms out with our elbows tucked in.
Now get into your address position and we can start activating.
We do this by pulsing with the hands, making small circular motions to get the upper back muscles engaged and then with the legs we add some stomping which gets the glutes going.
The faster and more intense you make this drill the more good you will get from it. I recommend doing 30 to 60 seconds two or three times before you go out.
