Nick Flanagan heads the Australians at the halfway mark of the Web.Com Tour’s LECOM Health Challenge in Findley Lake in New York State, the former US Amateur Champion, who received an invite into the event, adding a second round of 68 to be four shots from the lead held by Xinjun Zhang of China and American Adam Long.

Flanagan, who was once a three time winner on the Web.Com Tour, is battling his way back and recently earned a start at the US Open where, although he missed the cut, he would have gained a lot of confidence by just making it into the field at Erin Hills.

This was just his second start on the Web.Com Tour this season and so his effort to date has been encouraging.

Oliver Goss, Rhein Gibson and Peter Lonard are tied for 47th position and will make the weekend, Lonard squeezing into the final 36 holes courtesy of an eagle at his final hole today.
