Minwoo Lee chases defence of US Junior Amateur title

The USGA’s US Junior Amateur Championship begins on Monday at the Flint Hills National Golf Club in Andover in Kansas where three Australians will chase the most significant title in junior golf

The event consists of 18 holes of strokeplay on each of Monday and Tuesday following which the leading 64 players will face off in 18 hole knockout match play matches leading to the 36 hole final on Saturday July 22nd.

West Australian Minwoo Lee begins the week as the defending champion having defeated American Noah Goodwin in the final last year and coming off the back of a near miss at the Sahalee Players Championship when beaten in a playoff for the tile then Lee is well placed to successfully defend.

 Lee will be joined by fellow Australians, Josh Armstrong from Canberra and Victorian Cameron John

Some of the more recognisable names to have won the event have included the likes of major champions Tiger Woods (three times), Jordan Spieth (twice) and David Duval.
