Minjee Lee has opened the door for her 4th LPGA Tour title by taking a two shot lead into the final round of the LPGA Volvik Championship in Ann Arbor in Michigan, a third round of 68 moving her clear of Stacy Lewis, In Kyung Kim, Jodi Ewart Shadoff and Lindy Duncan.

Lee who finished runner-up in this event last year continued her love affair with the Travis Pointe Country Club layout, her round today the sixth of her last seven in the 60’s.

Tomorrow’s final round is shaping as a real shootout with 14 players within four shots of Lee’s lead one of those being Lee’s fellow countrywoman Su Oh who is in a share of 6th position and three shots behind.

Oh appears to be finding form after a slow start to the season, she too producing a third round of 68 to be within striking distance of a first LPGA Tour victory.

Sarah Jane Smith is another Australian to be in the firing line. The Queenslander is five off the lead after her round of 67 today.

Hannah Green also made the cut but is well back through 54 holes.
