Minjee Lee poised at LPGA Volvik Championship

Minjee Lee looks well placed to improve on her near miss in the event last year, the West Australian just one behind the ever improving Nasa Hataoka at the LPGA Volvik Championship in Ann Arbor in Michigan.

Lee bounced out of the gates early on day two with two birdies to begin her round, her only real blemish coming when she bogeyed her 14th hole but the round of 69 has her knocking on the door of a possible 4th LPGA Tour victory.

Lee finished runner-up in this event to Shanshan Feng last year and looks a great chance to go one better in 2018.

Already 8th on the 2018 LPGA Tour money list, Lee appears like to improve on that standing and a week out from the US Women's Open her game appears in good shape for the second major of the year.

The leader, Hataoka, is in her second season on the LPGA Tour and appears to be finding her feet with two very good finishes in recent starts including when runner-up at last week's Kingsmill Championship.

Su Oh is showing improvement on her season to date and is in a share of 12th place at 5 under and four shots from the lead while Sarah Jane Smith is 30th and Hannah Green 39th.
