Australia’s Minjee Lee and two time winner of the event, Korean Amy Yang, are joint leader of the Honda LPGA Thailand event in Chonburi,

Te pair are two shots clear of 36 hole leader, Jenny Shin of the USA, with another shot back to last week’s winner of the Women’s Australian Open, Nelly Korda, first round leader, Eun Hee Ji, and Austin Ernst.

Birdies at her final two holes saw Yang join Lee in the lead and tomorrow promises a real battle between the course specialist Yang and one of the game’s leading players in Lee, who last year finished runner-up to Ariya Jutanugarn on the 2018 LPGA tour money list.

Katherine Kirk was the next best of the Australians, her round of 71 having her in a share of 13th place while Sarah Jane Smith is 59th and Su Oh 61st.
