Made in Denmark restarts European Tour

The European Tour is in Denmark for this week’s Made in Denmark event, the second staging of the event after Marc Warren had won the inaugural version last year.

After two weeks break while events have been played in the US the European Tour's local events are back underway.

The Himmerland Golf and Spa Resort in Farso is again the venue.

Given the timing of the event immediately after two big events in the US the field is lacking any of Europe’s stars but Warren is back to defend and has played well enough in recent weeks to do just that.

Soren Kjeldsen won the Irish Open two months ago then finished runner-up at the Nordea Masters before what was a very good 12th place at the Bridgestone. He missed the cut last week at the PGA but he must have some sort of chance in his homeland.

So too must Thomas Bjorn who is well below his best but might not need to be at his peak to win this.

Matthew Fitzpatrick, the 2013 US Amateur Champion, finished runner-up in Switzerland three weeks ago and is emerging as an outstanding prospect on the European Tour.

The Australians in the field include are Richard Green, Jason Scrivener, Terry Pilkadaris and Daniel Gaunt.
