Weekly Reader Poll

Longs or Shorts on the Golf Course?

Warm conditions at this week's Australian PGA have made shorts a popular choice during practice. (Photo: Henry Peters)
Heads were turning today at Royal Pines as Australian golf fans came to grips with the rare sight of male professional golfers dressed in shorts.

The European Tour has allowed its players to wear shorts during practise rounds since the beginning of 2016 but it’s still a novel concept in Australian men’s pro golf.

Victorian pro Jack Wilson was among many players in shorts during practice at Royal Pines.

This week’s Australian PGA Championship on the Gold Coast is co-sanctioned by both the PGA Tour of Australasia and European Tour and many Australian players are taking advantage of the more relaxed early week dress code in the hot south-east Queensland climate.

Question: Weather conditions aside, what are you most comfortable wearing on the golf course?
  • Pants
  • Shorts/Skirt
