IT looks as though an impressive video from an Australian on the European Tour has started a new craze among the circuit's top players, following the latest Instagram offering from Spaniard Pablo Larrazabal.
In June, West Australian Brett Rumford was captured showing off his immaculate short game ability when he produced a spectacular 5-iron flop shot to much applause at a practise green.
But fellow touring pro Larrazabal has answered the call and gone one better, posting his own video to Instagram this week of him pulling off the stunt with a 3-iron.
On one knee at an empty driving range, Larrazabal opens the face of his long iron and lies it practically flat on the grass.
The World Number 162 unleashes a full swing from the awkward stance, making perfect connection with his range ball and the turf, to see the ball launch straight into the air.
He quickly hops up to inspect the flight of his ball which is seemingly tracking straight over the roof covering the practice facility.
However, it looks as though Larrazabal worked his way into the stunt, after posting a similar video three days earlier to Instagram of a greenside flop shot over his golf bag with a 9-iron.

The 3-iron stunt might be too risky a ploy to pull off in the middle of a competition round, but if Larrazabal happens to snap his lob wedge, he'll have a few backup clubs to turn to.
