Korda has halfway lead in Bahamas

Not always a common site on the LPGA Tour in recent times, the leading four places at the completion of 36 holes at the Pure Silk LPGA Bahamas Classic at Paradise Island are held by Americans with Jessica Korda ahead by two over Paula Creamer with Michelle Wie and Jenny Suh in a share of third position one shot further back.

20 year old Korda, the 40th ranked player in the world, has developed into a very consistent player having not missed a cut since September of 2012 and although she has not won in that period she is building towards her second victory on the LPGA Tour having won the Australian Women's Open in early 2012.

Korda's round of 66 was not the best of the day (that honour going to Wie and Creamer's 65's) but it was good enough to give her the lead over Creamer, looking for her first win in more than three years, Wie who appears to be returning to her best in recent starts and Suh who only narrowly missed gaining full status at the recent Tour School but had enough to earn a start here.

New Zealander Lydia Ko, playing her first event as an LPGA Tour member, is three shots from the lead and well enough placed heading into the final 36 holes.
