Kodaira wins Japan Tour Championship

Satoshi Kodaira has won his first Japan Golf Tour event with a narrow one shot victory over Korean S.K Ho and Thailand's Kiradech Aphibarnrat at the Japan Golf Tour Championship at the Shishido Hills Golf Club in Ibaraki.

Kodaira is into his third full season on the Japan Golf Tour and although this was his first victory and 10th place had been his best finish in his opening two seasons he had been sending out signals in recent weeks that a win was not far off. Kodaira had finished 5th and 6th in his last two events.

Kodaira moves into second position on this year's money list although a long way behind Hideki Matsuyama who after finishing 10th at last week's US Open finished 7th this week.

Steve Conran finished as the leading Australians when tied for 10th while Brad Kennedy was the next best in 13th position. Kennedy is the leading Australian on the 2013 Japan Tour money list in 17th position.
