Ko adds another LPGA Tour title in Ohio

Lydia Ko has won her fourth LPGA Tour title, her second as a professional and her 7th victory in a professional event with a one shot victory over So Yeon Ryu at the Marathon Classic in Sylvania in Ohio.

Ko will edge a little closer to Stacy Lewis as the game's number one player but despite not reaching that point yet, the rise she is on at the age of just 17 suggests that number one position in women's golf is not too far away.

Ko recorded a bogey free round of 65 to overcome a two shot 54 hole deficit to eventually defeat So Yeon Ryu by one shot and Cristie Kerr by three.

Ko earns US$210,000 for her efforts and takes her rookie season earnings beyond US$ 1 million.

Katherine Kirk continued her improvement with a share of 4th to lead the Australians and earns US$60,000 and Lindsey Wright had a much better week when she finished in a share of 7th. It turns around what has been a horror season to date for Wright in 2014.
