Karis Davidson's great rookie season in Japan continues

Davidson is performing with credit in her rookie season
Queensland’s Karis Davidson has finished 11th at the Japan Ladies Tour’s LPGA Championship Konica Minolta Cup, the Gold Coast golfer continuing to impress in her rookie season.

A final round of 70 has seen Davidson earn the equivalent of $44,000 and takes her earnings for the season to $A253,000. She is now 38th on the money list and so her initial task of retaining status there in her rookie season appears a formality.

Davidson is the only Australian playing on the Japan Ladies Tour in 2018 and has flown under the radar to a large extent as does the JLPGA Tour.

The tournament was won by the brilliant former world number one, Jiyai Shin, who now focuses her attention in Japan rather than on the LPGA Tour.

Shin a former Australian Women’s Open winner defeated her fellow countrywomen Sun-Ju Ahn and Jae-Eun Chung by a massive 11 shots.

The win takes keeps Shin at number one of the Japan Tour money list in 2018 following yet another great season for the 11 time LPGA Tour winner and the winner of more than 50 titles worldwide.
