Julia Boland joins LPGA Tour

Australian golfer Julia Boland will join the LPGA Tour in 2013 after finishing in 8th position on the Symetra Tour's money list.

The Symetra Tour is the LPGA's equivalent of the Web.Com Tour and offers ten LPGA Tour cards based on their money list at the completion of their 2012 schedule of events.

26 year old Boland was playing her rookie season on the Symetra Tour this season and produced a consistent series of results before winning in Indiana in early August.

That win and the accompanying $US22,500, one of the largest cheques in the history of the Tour, proved crucial as the season wore on.

Boland also finished runner-up in the race for the Rookie of the Year title.

The former Australian Strokeplay Champions and Lake Macquarie Amateur winner amongst her many titles, Boland joins the likes of Karrie Webb, Katherine Hull, Lindsey Wright and Sarah Jane Smith on the LPGA Tour next season.
