New Zealander, Josh Geary, has finished in a share of 6th position at the Web.Com Tour’s Servientrega Championship in Cartagena in Colombia and as a result is now likely to earn starts in every Web.Com Tour event for the remainder of the season.

Geary had conditional status in season 2016 as a result of his success on the China Tour in 2015 where he finished in second position on their Order of Merit but because of his good start to the season with a 12th place finish in Brasil and now this 6th place finish he will be well placed in the re-rank when it comes in a few more events.

His status was not sufficient to gain him starts in the more popular events early in the season but he now appears safe for as many starts as he wants for the remainder of the Web.Com Tour season.

Geary finished four shots behind the playoff pair of Canadian Brad Fritsch and American Ollie Schniederjans, Fritsch winning in extra time to deny Schniederjans his first victory as a professional.

Geary’s fellow New Zealander Steve Alker finished in a share of 12th and Mathew Goggin was the only Australian to make the cut and finished 42nd.

The Web.Com Tour now has a week off before playing an event in Mexico.
