Matt Jones and Cameron Percy are making strong bids to join Cameron Davis on the 2019 PGA Tour, all three in contention as the second event of the Web.com finals series heads to the weekend.

Jones is sharing fourth place at the DAP Championship in Ohio just three stokes behind leader Kramer Hickok while Davis and Percy are both T8 two shots further back.

The tournament is the second of four which will decide 25 places on next season’s PGA Tour through a cumulative money list, Davis already earning enough to graduate thanks to a fourth place finish last week.

Jones is also in good position after sharing 10th in the first of the four tournaments while Percy has made a big move with his play so far this week.

Nine Australians are tackling the finals series which brings together those finishing in the top 75 on the Web.com money list with those finishing 126-200 on the FedEx Cup.

Jones, Percy, John Senden and Aaron Baddeley all spent last season on the PGA Tour while Brett Drewitt, Rhein Gibson, Curtis Luck, Stuart Appleby and Davis all played predominantly on the Web.com

Jones raced to the finish line in a second round 64 to jump 25 places up the leaderboard, making four birdies on his second nine to be T4 at day’s end.

Percy, too, was around in 64 though after opening with a 1-over 71 is two shots behind Jones and at 5-under for the week shares eighth.

Davis is on the same total as Percy courtesy of opening 69-66, Aaron Baddeley next best of the Australians at 4-under and T15.

Rhein Gibson and Brett Drewitt are the last of the Australian contingent under par, Gibson at 3-under and T 23 while Drewitt is 2-under and T40.

John Senden posted a second round of 70 to finish at 3-over and miss the cut, Curtis Luck also adding an even par 70 to his opening 75 to miss the weekend’s play.
