Chinese star amateur, Cheng Jin, has held off a determined challenge from NSW’s golfer, Harrison Endycott, to win the Players Am Championship at Berkeley Hall in Bluffton South Carolina.

Jin, who last year won the Asia Pacific Amateur Championship in Hong Kong and who has already won an event on the PGA Tour China series, finished two ahead of Endycott and American Patrick Martin.

Endycott, form the Avondale Golf Club on Sydney's North Shore, recorded the best final round of the day (66) to move into his share of second position.

Gold Coaster Anthony Quayle and NSW’s Travis Smyth tied for 4th while Queensland teenager Louis Dobbelaar was 12th.

Several of those playing this week, including Endycott, will tee it up at this week’s Southern Amateur in Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.
