Harrington wins in Johor

He might have struggled over the closing stages of the Iskandar Johor Open today at the Horizon Hills GCC in Johor Bahru in Malaysia but Padraig Harrington was still a decisive winner of the US$1.25 million Asian Tour event.

It was Harrington's first win in an IGF sanctioned event since the PGA Championship in 2008 and he will be delighted to have found the winner' circle once again.

Harrington battled through the pain barrier in round three after damaging a neck nerve in his warm up and even considered withdrawing from the event but given that he was leading decided to battle on.

He will be glad he did as although it is not the greatest field he has beaten it is an encouraging return to form.

Harrington dropped three shots in the last three holes but still won with three shots in hand over the brilliant teenager Noh Seung-yul who extended his already significant lead on the 2010 Asian Tour money list.

Scott Barr was 5th, Scott Hend and Marcus Both both closed in 19th while Gavin Flint and Marcus Fraser were 23rd.
