Australia’s Hannah Green heads into tomorrow’s final round of the Symetra Tour’s Fuccillo Kia Classic of New York with a one shot lead over Filipino Mia Piccio, the 20 year old West Australian seeking her second victory in seven starts on the LPGA’s secondary tour.

With her boyfriend and fellow professional Jarryd Felton on the bag, Green added a second round of 68 in the 54 hole tournament to take the lead after being one behind Piccio after round one.

A win tomorrow would go a long way to assuring Green of LPGA Tour status in 2018 and open up the opportunity for immediate graduation should she win a third title over the remainder of the season. Any player winning three events in a season earns immediate access to the LPGA Tour.

The leading ten players at season’s end however earn status 2018 LPGA Tour. In 2016 the figure required to be inside the top ten was US$67,500.

Success this week would likely take Green to the top of the money list from her current 7th place and move her earnings in 2017 to US$48,000.

Felton, a two time PGA Tour of Australasia, is in New York after attempting qualifying for the US Open in London earlier this week and decided to stop over on his way back to Perth where both players hail from.

Hannah Green, a guest on iseekgolf’s Podcast earlier this week, is playing the Symetra Tour in 2017 after missing out on LPGA Tour status at the Tour School late last year.
