Green and Artis are among four Australians in the field for the Bank of Hope Founders Cup at the Wildfire Golf Club at JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort and Spa.
Tour veterans Katherine Kirk and Sarah Jane Smith round out the Australian contingent at an event which, since its inception in 2011, has brought Australian success with Karrie Webb victorious in 2011 and 2014.
For Green and Artis, this will be their first start in the US as card-holding members of the LPGA and so for both this is a big moment in their respective careers.
Green has already shown a capacity to contend at this level having finished 3rd at the LPGA Tour’s Women’s Australian Open and 11th at the opening event of the season in the Bahamas.
Artis: The two-time Ladies European Tour winner now gets her chance in the big pond.
With three victories on the Symetra Tour in 2017, the 21-year-old West Australian has also shown a capacity to win when in contention and even if those victories were at a lower level, the lessons she learned while doing so stand her in good stead.
Green is shaping as one of Australia’s best golfing prospects and her performances to date in her young professional career certainly add to that claim.
Gold Coast-based Artis’ only LPGA Tour start since gaining her playing rights via the LPGA Tour School late last year was when missing the cut at the Women’s Australian Open but she is a two-time winner on the Ladies European Tour and now gets her chance after many years trying to reach the holy grail of women's professional golf.
