Green and Flanagan contend in Mexico

Australian golfers Nathan Green and Nick Flanagan are well placed as the Web.Com Tour's El Bosque Mexico Championship in Leon, Guanajuato heads into the weekend.

Green is one shot behind leader, American Justin Thomas, while Flanagan is another shot back in a share of 4th position.

For both golfers this is outwardly at least a form reversal. Green had missed his opening four cuts on the Web.Com Tour schedule in 2014 while Flanagan had laye three and not made the weekend in any of his first three events of the season.

Both have fallen from their earlier glory, Green a Canadian Open winner while a PGA Tour member and Flanagan a three time winner on the Web.Com Tour in 2007 which earned him immediate graduation to the PGA Tour.

Their task now however is to capitalise on their good starts this week to position themselves for another crack at the PGA tour in 2015.

Bronson La Cassie, Nick O'Hern and Cameron Percy are the next best of the Australians in 20th position.
