Choi finished right on the required mark needed to secure one of 48 cards from the Tour's Final Stage of Qualifying held over 144 holes at Pinehurst in North Carolina.
Choi recovered from a horror start to the marathon when, after opening with two consecutive rounds of 79, she worked her way through the field to finish in a share of 45th place.
Two late birdies made all the difference after dropping four shots in her opening nine holes of round eight and while her status will be a limited one because of the low ranking she has earned, importantly she has a card and will now get to play in several events on the 2019 LPGA Tour.
Choi is no stranger to the process of qualifying for the big stage having played the US Women’s Open in each of the last two years through that process.
A student at the University of Colorado in recent times, 20 year old Sydney born Choi is a former member of RACV Royal Pines on the Gold Coast.
Rebecca Artis, who has just finished her rookie season on the LPGA Tour, finished outside the qualifying mark
Japan’s Suzuka Yamaguchi who this year won the Australian Women’s Amateur Championship also made it into the top 45th when she finished 36th.
