Goggin chasing repeat Panama win

Former winner Mathew Goggin has the third round lead at the Panama Claro Championship in Panama City, his third round of 66 moving him two shots clear of Roland Thatcher, Kevin Foley and former New Zealand Open Champion Bobby Gates.

Goggin, who won this event in 2011 on his way to a brilliant season in 2011 on the then Nationwide Tour, last year narrowly missed regaining his playing rights for the PGA Tour but a win here will see him again on track to head back to the PGA Tour next year if not earlier.

Two late bogeys on the demanding Panama Golf Club layout cost Goggin a significant cushion heading into the final round but given the comfort zone he has on the golf course his chances look good of making the perfect start to the season.

Aron Price is the next best Australian in 15th position six shots behind Goggin's lead.
