36 year old Robert Garrigus missed the cut at his last start at the Honda Classic but today showed he had taken no harm from the experience by safely negotiating a tough Copperhead layout at the Innisbrook Resort at Palm Harbor near Tampa and at the halfway mark of the Valspar Championship.

Garrigus, whose only victory on the PGA Tour came at the Childrens Miracle Network Classic in 2010 but who has had several near misses since, has a three shot lead over Kevin Na as the event enters the weekend.

Four players including the leading world ranked player in the event, Justin Rose, are in a share of 3rd position one shot behind, Na.

The leading Australian is Greg Chalmers who shares 7th position and four from the lead, two late bogeys costing him the chance of something much better.

John Senden is 35th while Stuart Appleby, Marc Leishman and Robert Allenby also made the cut one shot behind Senden.
