All five Australians have made the cut at the LPGA Tour’s Bank of Hope Founders Cup in Phoenix in Arizona, but in 53rd place Su Oh, Katherine Kirk and Hannah Green are the best of them while Minjee Lee and Sarah Jane Smith have just made the weekend in a share of 70th place.

Kirk, Oh and Green are nine shots behind the joint leaders, world number one Sung Hyun Park and and China’s Yu Liu but eight players are just two behind at 10 under par including New Zealander Lydia Ko.

21 players are within four shots of the lead as the event enters the weekend at the Wildfire Golf Club at JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa.

Park has won her last two starts in at the HSBC Women’s World Championship in Singapore and in a Thailand LPGA Tour event and as the world number one she started the favourite in the event and is thus far justifying her support.

Liu completed her rookie season in 2018 finishing 3rd amongst the list of rookies with a best finish of 7th at the Ricoh Women’s British Open and today she provided further evidence of her potential with a best of the day round of 64.

Defending champion Inbee Park is three shots from the lead at 9 under par.
